Bridge Buy-In

Proposed Bridge Site

The Audubon Society of Corvallis’ Hesthavn Nature Center is planning upon expanding their facility trails by creat¬ing a new nature trail through the maturing forest on the property. To accomplish this expansion, there is a need to cross Oak Creek in two places. For this purpose, we need two footbridges. This project will cost between $12,000 and $15,000.

At the December 15, 2011, Corvallis Audubon Soci¬ety general meeting, it was announced that the National Audubon Society has awarded Hesthavn $1,000 towards the bridges project. With that $1,000 and a required match, Hesthavn has the funding to go forward in contacting struc¬tural engineers to oversee this project. We were surprised, during the general meeting, by an anonymous donor step¬ping forward with a donor matching proposal. Through March 15th, 2012, up to $5,000 will be matched! And, if we meet this goal, with your donations, we will be able to complete the project and have “Loop Walkers” by the summer of 2013.

Read more about it in the Gazette Times!

Please send your tax-deductible donations to the Audubon Society of Corvallis, PO Box 148, Corvallis, OR 97339. Donations of $1,000 or higher, will have the donors names engraved on an appreciation plaque that will be in¬stalled at the footbridge crossings, upon their completion.
